I didn't get around to doing a pinterest project in May.......I guess I was just a bit busy with school wrapping up for the year! I'm so glad it is summer!

This month I made an easy Peanut Butter Yogurt Dip. A friend of mine pinned this on pinterest and I couldn't resist trying it out. It ironically has two ingredients..... 1/4 c. peanut butter and 1/2 c. yogurt. I added honey to give it a more sweet taste since I used plain yogurt. I liked it best on fruit.

Baby Shower Gift

It's awfully difficult to take a proper photo of something on your right shoulder with your right hand = goofy pictures + the impracticality of taking one with your left. I never thought of switching the burp cloth to my other shoulder until a few hours after the fact. *sigh

Hi Ya'll! Anna here. This month's project was a baby shower gift for a friend in Arizona. Here's me modeling one of the finished spit-up rags. (Glamorous, I know.) Mom thought of the idea - apparently, a friend of hers made some for her when we Pyatskowit kids were little. Mom loved 'em because they were cut to fit over your shoulder and didn't slide around as much as a normal, rectangular one would. Hopefully my friend will feel the same way... :D

April Project-Empanadas de Queso

Hello!
This month I made a recipe that was quite interesting. I am in a Spanish class at school and we are studying South America right now. After learning about a country (or a few countries) we have a food day. We recently had a food day on Bolivia, Ecuador, and Peru. So I went on pinterest and found this recipe for empanadas de queso. I learned that they are typically found all over South America. They were really good and the best when they are eaten warm.

The cheese kind of baked out of them too. :)

Gumdrop Roses!

Hey Everyone!
This is Joanna by the way! :) My pinterest project for this month is gumdrop flowers. 

I decorated cupcakes for my Grandpa and Grandma's 55th anniversary family get together.

To make the flowers: (I used regular sized gumdrops)

1. Roll out gumdrop on a sugared surface into a circle (this prevents the gum drop from sticking).

2. Cut the circle into three strips.

3.Start with one strip and wrap it into a coil shape pinching at the bottom.

4. Wrap each of the other strips around the first one to create the rose shape! 

5. For the leaves I just cut strips of green gum drops and pinched them at the base.

A Pinteresting Project

Good Morning Everyone! It's Zoë here...Yes, the one that never posts on her blog, hardly ever responds to club emails, and (isn't that enough?) *gasp* hasn't done a Pinterest project for months.

(*waves hand* Yes, that's me)

Well, now that the introductions are out of the way, lets move on to more exciting things, shall we?

It's Bethany's birthday next Thursday (SHH!) and so I decided to employ Anna's nifty method of "killing two birds with one stone" and got on Pinterest to find out what her present would be.

I came up with the idea of matching skirts for her and her doll.

Bethany's favorite animal happens to be a horse, so I purchased some horse-y fabric and contrasting brown fabric at the shop earlier this week. I took it home, washed it, dried it and then: measured, cut, snipped, scribbled a bit, pinned, tucked and gathered, stitched and ripped, and this is what it looks like!

I only put elastic in the back, so the front would lay flat...

Me and the Baby Blanket

I'm nearly finished with this month's project. A group that I'm in (based out of Arizona - Hi Seren!) posted a challenge which involved (for me) making this! Of course, I liked the idea of killing two birds with one stone and got the pattern off of Pinterest. :D

I confess: I HATE sewing ((mostly just because it hates me.)) but this little project proved to be a simple one. It's a "rag" blanket, so you stitch the seams without putting "right sides together." I was pitifully excited about not following the fundamental laws of sewing. (I know...dreadful, right?)

Anyway, a few more fringes, a tumble in the dryer and my blanket will be finished. It was fun!

Ps. I know. Zebra stripes and polka dots are a weird combination. You have Walmart's teensy fleece fabric selection to thank for that. ;)

A Fresh Start

Hi girls!


Digging through my email inbox for Pinterest updates, trying to figure out why on earth my account refuses to send Group Updates to Kaitlin - plus the general disorganization and laxness of our fine organization -  has convinced me of the truth: We need something else. This.




I'm giving everyone a copy of the username/password combo and this blog. We can all log in here and post our monthly successes - but that's another question. Do you girls think we should do it every two weeks to make it more interesting?




Now, I also know that another problem in our group is that some of us simply don't have time (after working - some have several jobs - all day, doing chores at home and, in general, just trying to survive the schedule) to think up, complete and post projects. If anyone feels the need to "respectfully decline" I won't be offended. Otherwise, we'd all be happy to have you!


I've made some labels for every month, SO: Before you post your successes, make sure to label them in the correct month - just to make a pretense of organization. ;)



Also:: When someone does a good job, please be sure to chime in and let them know it in the comments! Everyone needs a little encouragement.
